In only 3 years of life, the project had great feedbacks from critics and from public.

They won important awards:

Best group award”, “Best album award” -Songlines-, “Best world music album” -German Critics records-.

They played more than 150 concerts in 25 countries in the most important festivals,

(among others: Womex, Transmusicales, Eurosonic, Womad, Oslo world, Amsterdam roots, A.M.E, Luminato, Fusion, Budapest Ritmo…)

They are going to release the new album in 2024 with the production of Kastrup (Grammy winner with “Mulher do fim do mundo” by Elza Soares)

“Their sound is a mix of Brazilian, Tropical, Afrolatin and Afrolusitan sounds played with irresistible swing, like tropical sun penetrating grey clouds. Blending century old traditions with the black and rhythmical language of lusophone cultures, Ayom provide a hot-stepping and spiritual voyage across the African diaspora”

(Songlines  -Best Album, Best Group winner-)

“The band Ayom sounds like they’ve been cultivating their Brazil-Cape Verde-Mediterranean mix for years. The variety of rhythms used is overwhelming…Not easy to get right! But they make it work remarkably well, contagiously cheerful, light-footed, and airy” (German Critics Records – Best world music album winner-)
