Once started as a solo home-recording project of Donald Madjid, Don Melody Club has grown into a convincing five-piece live formation. Their musical journey started with the debut album ”Pure Donzin” that was released on the renowned Swiss label Bongo Joe in 2021. With this, Don acquired a niche fan base and the album has since been baptized as a cult classic.

In April 2022, Don and the entire live formation entered the Jan Schenk studio in Amsterdam to record new work. This adventurous sound, with new influences from the 80s such as Talking Heads, Doe Maar and clearly audible dub effects, shows that Don Melody Club likes to keep the spectrum and style of the band broad and quite experimental. Despite exploring and expanding the sound, the vocals and Don’s characteristic voice always remain a common thread throughout the music.
