FRIDAY began as the story of two friends—Koen and Quinten—writing songs after long days in the 9–5 grind. Their music was born from friendship, freedom, and the desire to break out of the ordinary.
Along the way they signed to major labels, and tasted success: two Top Songs on Dutch radio, more than 15 million Spotify streams, and a string of sold-out shows. But with every step forward came new cages—whether in business or the music industry—that left them restless and searching.
Now, with their third album, the duo turns a darker corner. The songs dive deeper—into sleepless nights, the weight of modern life, and the search for light in the shadows. Where their earlier work celebrated escape, these new tracks wrestle with what we’re escaping from: the rat race, the silence between friends, the haunting echo of dreams deferred.
FRIDAY has grown into something more raw, more urgent, and more indie at its core. Still rooted in melody and connection, but sharpened by darker edges and restless energy, their music is both a soundtrack for escape and a mirror for anyone caught between freedom and doubt.
Every day can feel like Friday—but this time, it’s after midnight.
