Michael Prins (born in 1985) is a Dutch musician living in the city of Rotterdam. In 2013, he gained success with his debut album and hit single ‘Close To You’; two more successful albums followed. Michael started a journey at a young age, one dedicated to his passion for music; a path he is still on. As a free spirit, Michael is not a person who would carelessly define a single thing. The freedom he lives in forces him to make art, and to maintain that art, he forces himself into freedom; a duality of struggle, honesty, and purity.
Now working on his fourth record, he has hit a milestone in which this path of experience has led him to a perspective of meaning: a fearless and sincere collection of songs containing his best work yet, art which embraces the vastness and dualities of life, a two-sided coin balancing multitudes of pain and beauty, so familiar that any listener will recognize those universal themes and connect with them on a deeper level. It is one of those rare cases in which the endurance of the artist results in songs which, once released, are no longer his, but the listener’s, forced to rediscover a part of themselves.
