Mali’s guitar phenomenon Vieux Farka Touré and Cuban piano virtuoso Roberto Fonseca join forces for a brand-new collaborative album and a major international live project. The album will be released in 2027 by one of our favourite labels.
What began as a meeting between two remarkable musicians has developed into a fascinating musical dialogue between Mali and Cuba – between guitar and piano, desert blues, jazz, Afro-Cuban traditions and two artists with unmistakably individual musical voices. In 2027, the collaboration will become a unique live experience with a six-piece band, bringing the music of the new album to European stages.
